Taipei Part 2

1st Jan 2009 - Happy New Year!

A lazy morning~ lack of rest after yesterday's concert.

Start off the year with a delicious meal at The World of Curry!

A good start yea~

Love the soup! curry was alright as it wasn't warm enough.

Travelled to Shilin Station and transferred bus to visit the National Palace Museum.

To celebrate New Year's Day, entrance fees were not needed. =)

There was several showcase of antiques, calligraphy, books, painting, swords and many more from many generations ago.

No photo taking are allowed inside the Museum,

The building looks ancient whereas the interior looks pretty modern.

Times flies when you are inside.
We end up leaving only at 5.30pm, spent around 2 - 3 hrs exploring the exhibitions.

Travelled to Jiantan Station and got into the shuttle bus for the Miramar Ferris Wheel.

It wasn't as tall as expected as it was built on the last level of a shopping mall.

Waiting time = more than half hour (if it's for the transparent cabinet, waiting time will be 3 hours)

Total time on the ride = 10minutes

Dinner time~

went to Shilin Snacks Centre, it was super packed with people!

It seems to look different from what I have seen on TV though. It look more like a market.

Ate the Oyster Omelette and Lu Rou Fan. The rice was really nice with the sauce! It's pretty cheap as well, only cost NT20 per bowl, though the portion was really small too.

And the Chicken Cutlet, super long queue

Beside it was the famous Shilin Night Market. Similar to the snacks centre, it was super crowded. You can't really stop to shop as there will be a lot of people behind you.

After that, I guess we returned to Ximending to continue our shopping.

2nd Jan 2009 -

Can't believe we actually stood outside this shop (Tamago Ya) and waited for half an hour for it to open. Lol

It was just a small distance away from our hotel.

Nice environment,
food wise, still alright, chicken meat was too tough, but curry sauce was nice. =p

You could enjoy a free cheese cake if you have the youth card. It's quite delicious~

Make our way to Wufenpu with the train service.

While we are walking there, we saw this dangerous playground. Lol.

It wasn't that nice to shop there as there wasn't anything we could buy.

We left the place quite early and head back to Ximending for dinner.

Fast Food - Ding Kua Kua

the fries is quite special as it's not like the usual fries we ate in S'pore.
It's made of sweet potato~

Tomorrow will be a busy day~
