Taichung Part 1

I'm back from Taiwan! =)

Hopefully I do remember the details correctly.. haha

Our first stop in Taiwan is Taichung, we stayed in Beacon Hotel which is just beside Feng Jia Night Market.

25th Dec 2008 - Cold Christmas

didn't had a good start as we stood in the cold windy "bus stop" (basically there was only some signboards) and waited for 1hr for our bus to arrive, only to know that it does not commute after 9+pm. Lol. The reason being that it is too crowded and jammed for big buses to drive in to Feng Jia.

Settled down and went straight to Feng Jia NM for dinner/supper.
Ate their famous Da Chang Bao Xiao Chang~ each store has quite a long queue even though there were selling similar food. It has different filling and more flavours to choose from compared to those in S'pore.
Also tried the chicken cutlet and noodle bread (was too full to eat it though, left it for breakfast)

26th Dec 2008 - Sun Moon Lake

Woke up early as we'll be travelling to Nantou Country to visit Sun Moon Lake. Planned to travel by Nantou Bus, but I guessed we missed the timing of it or nobody is going so no buses are available. Booked a car instead for NT800 per person (includes a 4hr tour around the Lake and back to the bus stop).

Our driver cum tour guide is an old auntie, quite friendly though she doesn't have patience with road blockers. haha

On our way there, we got to to see numerous mountains, this is one of them (can't remember the name)

to Sun Moon Lake

Sun Moon Lake is a big area, if you are here only for a day visit like us, you can only visit the main attractions. (Usual round-the-lake cab tour would cost NT1200)

1st stop : Wen Wu Temple

We get to wear their costume and take photo for free. But, everyone should know, there's no such thing as free lunch. We had to listen to their sales rep, trying very hard to sell us their store items.
Of cos, we are still students, can't afford the stuff.

4th Stop : Walking Trails (you have to walk all the way to Tzu En Pagoda)
