Taipei Part 1

30th Dec 2008 - Continued from Alishan

Settled down in Future Star Hotel (located in XiMenDing) after the super long bus journey.

In search of dinner and found this noodle stall..

wasn't very full and bought some chicken cutlet too~

31st Dec 2008 - Countdown to a brand new year

Slept till late morning in order to have more energy at night, (preparing for the Countdown Concert at Taipei Civic Plaza).

Make our way to ZhongXiao DunHua Station for our Ding Tai Fung Lunch.

It was super packed with people, we even had to get a queue number. I guess we waited around 30 - 45 minutes.

If you have the youth card, you can redeem a xiao long bao handphone strip too.

after lunch, walk around the city hall area and search for Xiao Gui's shop.

Surprisingly, there wasn't a name to the shop.

Split our ways at 4pm as only 2 of us wanna go for the countdown concert.

Taipei 101 during daytime.

Reached concert area around 5pm. Surprisingly, there wasn't many people there yet.
Took our spot somewhere near the stage. We are on the left side of the place (facing the stage), very good view as most singers like to face our side. haha

Concert was great though it was really tiring to stand there for a total of 8 hours. Worst still, it rained!! Luckily for everyone, the rain stopped when it was nearer to the actual countdown. =)

I heard there was around 700,000 people squeezing at the concert area. haha

It was supposed to be cold weather (13 degree), but it was quite warm with all the squeezing.

Quite a number of pop singers were performing for this concert, such as Soda Green, S.H.E, MC Hotdog, Big Mouth, Qiang Bian Band, Jam Xiao, Fish Leong, Lu Guang Zhong, Chen Qi Zhen, A-mei, Mayday and a few more.

And the fireworks at Tapei 101~

It was nice, but my camera didn't its job well. haha

Mayday was the most anticipated group. Woohoo!! It's my first time hearing them sing "Live" as well! The crowd was super "high"
Everyone rushed forward and I was simply pushed further in front by those behind me.
Good or Bad? hmm.

After the concert ended, we had to queue for the train service. It's really tough trying to disperse so many people. Lucky for us, we manage to return to our hotel at 2am.

Imagine how tired we are, we rushed for the bed and zZzz.
